Ranges

Ranges is your library of saved hand ranges. Every range here appears in the Presets ▾ menu on the New solve form, so a spot you solve often takes two clicks to set up.

Each row is one range with Name, Action, Position, vs, Hands, Combos, and Updated. Click a column header to sort, and click a row to open it for editing.

Above the table:

  • Search… filters by name.
  • Position chips (UTG to BB) and scenario chips (open raise, 3bet, and so on) narrow the list. Unset shows ranges without that piece of metadata. Clear filters resets everything.
  • + New range creates one from scratch.

The same search box and chips appear in Presets ▾ on the solve form.

+ New range (or a row click) opens the editor:

  1. Name the range.
  2. Optionally set Position, Action, and vs Position (see below).
  3. Fill in the grid. Click a cell to give it the weight on the Paint @ slider; drag to paint several cells. Or type a range string into the Range string field under the grid. Clear empties the grid.
  4. Click Save. A range needs a name and at least one hand.

To delete, open the range and click Delete, then confirm. Deleting is permanent.

The Range string field, and the text field on the solve form, use the common notation:

Token Meaning
AA, KK A pair
TT+ That pair and every higher pair
AKs, AKo Suited / offsuit
A2s+ That suited hand up to AKs
KTo+ KTo, KJo, KQo
AA:0.5 Weight 0.5 (play this hand 50% of the time)

Separate tokens with commas: 77+,AJs+,KQs,AQo+.

Metadata is optional, but it is what the filters and the Presets ▾ grouping run on.

Field Values Notes
Position UTG, HJ, CO, BTN, SB, BB The seat that holds this range.
Action open raise, call open raise, 3bet, call 3bet, 4bet, call 4bet, 5bet What the range did preflop to reach the spot.
vs Position a seat, or — Who the action was against. Meaningless for open raise.

A range with no metadata is listed under Uncategorized in the presets menu.

A new account comes with 6max 100bb Preflop: 47 ranges for NL 6-max at 100bb with 2.5bb opens (3.5bb from the SB), the calls and 3bets facing them, and the call-3bet ranges. Names follow the metadata, for example BTN open raise 2.5bb or BB call vs BTN open raise.

They are ordinary ranges. Edit them, rename them, or delete them as you like.

On New solve, paint a range on either card, open Presets ▾, and choose Save current as preset…. Give it a name in the Save range dialog and it joins the list here.

Ranges belong to your account and are available wherever you sign in. A solve keeps its own copy of the ranges it was submitted with, so editing a range later does not change any existing solution.
