Trainer

Study → Trainer deals you spots out of a solution pack and grades the action you pick. It is the sibling of Library under Study: Library is for browsing a pack, Trainer is for drilling it. Both read the same precomputed packs, so neither uses your monthly cloud solve quota.

Trainer opens on a home page in two parts. The header may carry a Questions today badge (used / limit · resets …) when your plan caps daily questions.

The top part is Stats: how you have played over a Period (7 days, 30 days, All time) and a Scope (All, Preflop, Postflop). It shows Decisions, GTO score, EV loss / 100 decisions and Days practised, a Score trend line, a Breakdown by spot, and Where you lose the most EV — your three costliest spots, each with Drill this spot. A spot ranks there once it has enough decisions. Details and recent sessions opens Recent sessions; pick one to open its session review.

With no records yet, the same area shows How it works: play a drill, misses go to the review queue, bookmark spots to revisit.

Below the stats, Drills holds a grid of cards (the counter beside the heading reads Saved drills n / limit):

  • Quick start — Continue with last settings (or Start with defaults the first time). Start deals at once; Change and start opens the drill dialog prefilled.
  • Review queue — spots you missed, with Due today, Misses and Last answered. Start review drills the due spots; when nothing is due the card reads Nothing due today · next due in … days. See Review queue.
  • Bookmark drill — replays the spots you bookmarked. See Bookmark drill.
  • Saved drill — one card per saved drill, with its last GTO score · hands. Start plays it; the menu has Edit, Rename, Copy link and Delete. A copied link opens the same drill for anyone with access to the pack.
  • + New drill — opens the drill dialog empty.

+ New drill, Change and start and Edit open the same dialog. It sets which spots are dealt and how you practise:

  • Pack, and Scope — Postflop or Preflop (disabled with This pack has no preflop solution when the pack has none).
  • Format (postflop) — Single spot (one decision per hand), Street (every hero decision on one street) or Full hand (every hero decision from flop to river).
  • Filters — Street, Seat, Spots & positions (Pot type, Positions) and Board (Suits, Pairing, High card, Connectedness). Preflop uses Position and Situation instead.
  • Practice settings — see Practice settings.

A count of what survives the filters (3 spots · 2 flops) sits in the footer; if nothing does, it reads No spots match these filters. and the start buttons are disabled.

The footer offers Start once, which plays without saving, and Save and start, which also adds the drill to your grid as a saved drill. When editing a saved drill, Save stores the changes.

  • Learning mode — on a Mistake or Blunder, the drill stops and asks Review this decision? with Retry this decision, Open explanation and Continue. A retry is marked Retry · not scored.
  • Time bank — Off, 15s or 30s. When the time runs out the decision is marked Timed out and graded as your combo’s least-played action.
  • RNG — play the one action a 0–99 roll picks. The roll decides which line counts as Best.
  • After answering — Open explanation keeps the explanation panel up; Auto next moves on to the next decision by itself.

The header carries the run (Trainer · Spot 3 / 12 · 6-max 100bb), the matchup (BTN vs BB) and the running Hands, GTO score and EV lost. Bookmark saves the current spot to your bookmark drill, and End drill finishes the session and opens the results. Above the table, a path bar shows How this spot was reached, ending at the decision you face.

The tray under the table is prompted with BTN to act or BTN facing a bet, and holds one button per action the node offers. Keys 1–9 pick the matching button (KEYS 1 – 3). Once you have answered, Next hand (or Next decision within a street or full hand) moves on; Enter or Space does the same.

Your action is compared against the solver’s mix for the exact combo you were dealt, not against the range average. Each decision gets one of five grades, and each grade has a score:

Grade When Score
Best your action is the highest-frequency line for your combo (with RNG on: the line the roll picked) 100
Correct the solver plays it at least 3.5% of the time 50
Inaccuracy the solver plays it, but less than 3.5% 0
Mistake the solver almost never plays it −50
Blunder almost never played, and it loses at least 10% of the pot −100

GTO score is the average score over the decisions you have answered, from −100 to 100. EV lost is your combo’s best action EV minus the EV of the action you took, in big blinds. Preflop nodes and some postflop nodes publish no per-action EV; those decisions show No EV data and are left out of EV lost, but still count toward the GTO score.

After you answer, Explanation shows Decision score, EV loss and EV loss / pot, then Your combo with each action’s Freq, EV (bb) and the difference vs. pick, and the acting player’s range strategy. Open in viewer opens the same node in the solution viewer. Preflop spots show the Range table instead.

When a drill ends, the results show How you played this session. — GTO score, EV lost / hand, the Verdict mix and a By street table. If you missed spots, a line says they went into the review queue and come back tomorrow.

Review opens Session review: every decision listed with its Hand, Grade and Picked action. Show filters to All, Misses or Bookmarked; Order sorts As played or by EV loss. Retry from here replays from a decision, and Same settings again starts a fresh session with the same drill. Per-decision records are kept for a limited period; after that only the summary is shown.

A postflop Mistake or Blunder puts the spot into the review queue. It comes back after 1 day; each correct answer (Best or Correct) pushes the next review out along 1, 3, 7 and 14 days, and a correct answer on the 14-day step takes the spot out of the queue. A new miss resets it to 1 day.

Bookmark a spot with Bookmark in the drill header and it lands in Bookmark drill. The card shows n / limit spots and, if some bookmarks use packs outside your plan, how many are not on your plan. Its settings dialog lists your bookmarks, lets you remove them and sets the practice settings; Start replays the bookmarked spots.

Trainer reads the solution catalog and never sends anything to the solver, so however long you drill, it costs no cloud solves.
